Richard’s history

Collection

Richard was founded in 1900 by Emile Richard, who gave the village its name. Born in 1860, he built a ranch here, and the original Richard Ranch Building dates to 1901. A post office opened in 1904, and on October 11, 1916, Richard incorporated as a village, about 48 kilometres east of North Battleford.
